Business Failures down 16% year on year
According to the latest set of corporate insolvency statistics published by www.insolvencyjournal.ie, the total number of business failures for the first four months of 2013 stands at 493. This is a 16% year on year drop compared to the total of 587 business failures recorded for the first four months of 2012. Business Failures in April 2013 totaled 146, an 5% drop compared with 154 insolvencies recorded in April 2012.

The Insolvency Service of Ireland
The Insolvency Service of Ireland has launched their online services. Their website www.isi.gov.ie details guidelines on a reasonable standard of living and reasonable living expenses along with information for Personal Insolvency Practitioners (PIP). The details released yesterday are one of the final parts in the new Personal Insolvency machine.

Retail Sector Continues To Take A Bashing Despite Year on Year Drop In Corporate Insolvencies
According to the latest set of corporate insolvency statistics published by www.insolvencyjournal.ie, total business failures for the first quarter of 2013 stand at 347 compared with 433 for the first quarter of 2012, a 20% drop. Business Failures in March 2013 totaled 118, a 9% drop compared to 130 insolvencies recorded in March 2012.

Year on year Corporate Insolvencies down 24% as economy shows increased stability
According to the latest set of insolvency statistics published by www.insolvencyJournal.ie, total corporate insolvencies so far this year are 229 compared with 303 for the same period in 2012, which is a decrease of 24%. Business Failures in February 2013 totaled 122, a 26% drop compared to 166 insolvencies recorded in February 2012.

Year on year decline in company failures but retail takes a battering
According to latest insolvency statistics published by www.insolvencyJournal.ie, the number of business failures in January 2013 totaled 107. This figure is a 22% decline on the total of 137 business failures recorded in January 2012.

Business Closures Stabilise Year on Year
According to latest insolvency statistics published by www.insolvencyjournal.ie, business failures for 2012 have totaled 1,684. This is a 3% increase on totals of 1,638 for 2011 and a 10% increase on 1,525 total for 2010. Geographically Leinster accounted for over 64% of all insolvencies, with Munster accounting for 21%, Connaught 10% and Ulster just 5%.
